short ram is shorter and cold air goes down near the bumper for freasher air

id get a aem dryflow intake system. we sell them where i work and there only like 90$ which imo is a good deal

cold air is better, unless of course its rainy season...but then you could always get the water bypass thing

get a short ram because if you get the cold air youd go in a puddle eventually

cold air sucks in more dust (filters are not full proof)...and summer time (our rainy season) is not good for them either.....(i found this out the hard way...only took me two tries)

use ram air and put a heat shield around the filter so it doesent suck in all the hot air from the engine...my 2cents

I am guessing you drive a 98 civic ex, dx or lx ?

In all honesty, there are not many modifications worth while for a sohc motor without internal engine work, such as an aftermarket camshaft, etc.

An intake is very easy to install, you really can do it your self.
There are tons of websites which walk you through step by step.

Good luck.
