Default EF Hatch alternator clearance solutions

excerpts from recent discussion.......

you only have to push the right side on the back fenderwell area in the bay about 4 inches not too hard could do it with a mallot but that wouldn't look as clean if you sanded it down and heated it up to hit it im bout to do it again to my new ef hatch let you know how it goes

Bob: Would it be easier, instead of getting out the torch to heat it, and everything else that you have to do along with that; ........... to make an aluminum "bump" (same size as beaten area) and cut a hole and rivet it to the firewall where you would have done the beating?...........save a smidgen of weight too.-Bob

2nd alternative, cut out the space that would be recessed, and make an aluminum sheet metal box to recess into the firewall. What do you think?-Bob
------------
While I can make both, the fastest/easiest for me is to make the box, and
recess it into the firewall.
I thank the TR member who contributed to this post. Sharing info is how we all get smarter.-Bob
