Default Removing Stereo From EG Civic

OK - I am attempting to swap out stereos on my 94 Civic hatchback and it seems that the panel that ovelays the stereo & A/C must be removed. Can someone please explain how to remove this piece? I would guess it is a snap in panel so I tried to wedge it out with a small screw driver but it does not seem to want to give and I think I am missing something here. Can you guys lend a helping hand?

Picture below for visual ref...

you probaly shoudl go pick up like a hanes manual or somting first. because their they for just this kind of thing. but like off the top pf my head there should be 2 screws that hold the lower part down near the pedals and the other side. take those off then remove the bottom and there should be some screws holding the top inside. or some shit like that

Remove the center console, then underneath the radio there are 2 screws you unscrew, then just push/pull the radio out and unplug the connector.

Yes remove the console the ash tray and cig. lighter is in, then reach under there and there are the two screws. Unsrew them and you can pull out the cd player.

The pic shows an aftermarket unit, so you may need the special removal tool inorder to get it out.

+1
was this in the car when you got it? if so and you didnt get any release keys, if you know someone with a sony stereo then use theirs. if not take that bastard up to circuit city and pay one of the installers $5 to pop it out for you.
