the car is 94 civic coupe,ls vtec...came to me on a flatbed last week cuz it would not start,i changed the ignitor and rotor and it ran fine...i had the owner get new parts from acura so i could get mine back...the car comes to me today running fine.i change out my parts for the new ones and start the car.starts right up as expected..then turns off after about 20 sec...would not restart...changed out the parts again,nothing..changed the ign.switch , nothing...it has a msd with external coil...i removed the msd 6al box and wire the coil to the dizzy and it starts right up and runns fine...the owner goes home and half way there it dies on him,now it is back here and it will turn over and every couple of times it will start for a sec. and then die...WTF do you think,,,thanks in advance

p.s. the car shows 40 lbs fo fuel press. and will still crank and rendomly fire for a sec...

 

maybe its just a coincidence and its not the ignition system causing the problem. have you checked fuel pressure and volume? maybe the pump is choking out. lmk. g/l

 

do you have any codes being thrown ?

 

i can hear the pump prime and turn off.shows good fuel pressure.no codes showing yet..
gonna try new ecu and dissy in the morning.one at a time of corse..

 

when it wont start, whats the deal? no spark? no fuel? both?
