Default gauges installation..

i jus got the autometer water temp. gauge and the oil psi gauge. wiring the lights is easy. on the sending unit, theres two sides. on goes to the gauge (which is easy) and the other one connects to somewhere else? where would i connect those for both the oil psi and the water temp?

if anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated.

i really never have messed with this much, but i would think that you splice it into the sensors themselves, the temperature sensor should already have wiring in the guage cluster from the original temp sensor unless you didnt have one, but you may have to go directly to the oil psi sensor cuz there isnt an oil psi in your cluster... your oil pressure sensor is located on the head below the dizzy, and then the water temperature sensor... which is also below your dizzy. look in the book to find out which is which, then splice them up... you need to keep the original wires still hooked up to the sensors, that way your ecu will still get feedback from them. let me know if i am close to what you were lookin for

remember... this is pretty much an educated guess but If someone can correct me on this please do...

Unless the gauges are specific to your car you will need to install
a sending unit specific to the brand of gauge.
Otherwise your cars "sending" voltage to the gauge, won't be the same as the "sending" voltage coming from a Chevrolet, for instance.

An example: Last time I did a temp ga, I got a t-stat housing from a junkyard, modified it, and installed a sending unit specific to the gauge, and that left my stock temp gauge still working, *and* the new gauge working also........the two gauges had not one thing in common.
If you want me to look at the gauges and tell you what you need, let me know.-Bob 839-4281
