Default Civic Help. 89.

Got 89 Civic D15.
Put headers on a while ago, got them for computer work. (Over 2 years)

Right now; the car doesnt feel like it has its "power"
I know that its not a fast car or anything, but this seems bad. lol

I replaced the Coil in the Dizzy and that helped a little.
Today i cut out the Cat, thinking it was clogged.
I removed the O2 sensor, and the car seemed to run better.. Put it back in, and it went back down. I kept the O2 sensor in, and just unplugged it.. And it still sucked.

Any suggestions? Can a new O2 sensor be the answer? Or is that too simple. **Also when i go above 60mph, the Check engine light comes on.. Dont know if that helps at all. ****

Stop cutting things and troubleshoot it first. The problem is probably within that exhaust manifold. It is basically faulty in the sense that it either for a more stronger motor, maybe a B series and it is robbing your horse power because it needs emissions which a B-series would give it to handle or your ecu is getting the reading that the o2 sensor is getting low emissions because the headers are made to handle more than it's given and tricking your ecu for a second into believing that it's at low driving speeds but yet your at 60 mph so now your MAF sensor is giving the information that throttle is fully open and the o2 sensor is saying hey i'm not barely get any feedback to filter within my cat converter. Basically remove the header and buy another one if it is made for your car and/or another brand which is and see if the problem is with the headers itself.

I agree, you need to troubleshoot rather than start replacing everything. Start by getting your car scanned, that way you can find out the trouble codes and maybe even get a real time data stream.

I concur with Tight civic on the swap to some junkyard headers and a good O2
sensor (cheap solution) to see if it's headers or something else.

Also scanning it may point out multiple problems.-Bob
