Default H22 Question

Im in the process of building a H22 and IM running Type S pistons but want to run the compression a bit higher. The question pretty much is should i shave the head or get a thinner head gasket? Or should i do both? Does anybody know where i could get a thinner head gasket online? If i shave the head how far can i go? Any help would be appreciated. thanks

you dont wanna go too thin, cuz then you will have less valve clearence, i would personally just go with the thin head gasket.

what i mean is if you machine your head and go with a thin gasket you will have alot less valve clearence (too thin) meaning the less your valves can open the less intake and exhaust can pass through.

If you put in Type S pistons, you dont wanna go thin. just go normal... we put clay on the piston and turned the cam's to see how much clearance it had on the H22, and it was good enough.. Any Closer you the Valves would've touched the piston's.. Any good Headgaskets will work for you... .. To be on the safe side(put 4 tiny pieces of clay on one piston*make sure you put one in the middle of the piston,*highest point*<<TypeS's are pretty tall>>)..
once you got the (OLD)HeadGaskets in, put on the head/tensioner/belt, spin the the cam manually, and MAKE SURE you lock the Vtec on that certain piston when your spinnin it as well, that way you not only check on regular driving, but with VTEC as well.. after just take it all apart again and see how much clearance you have... If its done right, the (tiny pieces of clay, should have hardly or no squoosh from the valves..
All this could be done easily if you have an engine stand and space and garage.
