Default Breaking in a new engine questions

Is there a generally acceptable way to break in a new never been run engine?

I found this http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm online but would like opinions. Of course I will talk to my builder/installer/tuner as well but would like to be as informed as possible. The one thing everything I read seems to say is, change your oil and check your oil filter after 20 miles, and keep doing so until the filter is clean. Also it says to not use synthetic inially, until you have about 1500 miles on it. Is this correct or is all opinion?

It will run as hard as you break it in!

The best engine in the world is the vagina, it takes any size piston, its self lubricating, starts with 1 finger, and every 4 weeks does its own oil change. It's just a pity the management system is so fucking temperamental.

definately DO NOT use synthetic during break in.

Everyone has their own opinion so get ready for it.

The first twenty five minutes of starting a motor are the most critical IMO. Start it up. Get a steady idle with an ideal A/F. Check for leaks and let it get up to operating temperature once. Change the oil and change the oil filter. I recommend Supertech oil and filter for startups. Start it again. Hold it at 1,500RPM - 2,000RPM for fifteen minutes. Change the oil and change the oil filter. Use whatever oil and filter your going to use from here on out. Go street tune and/or dyno tune the car now Did this with ICS's car, MADEX's car, ITR Shawn's car and many others.

If you paid a pro builder I would do what your builder tells you. If you don't and something lets go, he might tell you "tough luck, you just blew the warranty and your motor."
