well i was changing a head gasket for a friend of family ( brothers friend's pastor ) on a 2001 Kia Rio and one of their friend's needed help with an accord wagon check engin light was on so i ran a diagnosis, light blicked 8 times ( tdc censor) and im not to sure what that is can someone plz hlp and explain what and how to change

I think you mean TDC sensor (Top Dead Center). It is located in the distributor.

 

would that cause the car to redline at about 37 thou rpm's

That would be more the TPS (throttle position sensor), the TDC would more or less stop the car from running. Check the code again and see if its 7.

 

nope its 8 and the car is still runnin but it redlines at about 37 and takes a while to start

 

you should be able to find a cheap used distributor

 

yeah thas what i would do but they want it new im just doin the work
