how much weaker is a d15 compared to d16

Default how much weaker is a d15 compared to d16

is the d15 weaker than the d16? or does it just have smaller displacement

The d15 is non vtec, and the d16 is vtec.
1.5 1.6

maybe 25 hp depeneding on the engine code not all d16's are vtec http://www.superhonda.com/tech/honda_engine_codes.html simple website and not they messed up on the d16y7 calling it the d15y7 but then corrected themselves later on the page when they state its hp

i should have been more clear. im talking about the block ie...pistons rods, are they just as strong or not

ohhhh... ive read that the stock internals on a d cant take much more than 200
d-series.org has alot of info for ya

what about the jdm d15b?im pretty sure its vtec,126hp and like 114lbs tq.........it might be stronger and faster than most d16's maybe all.

Not really, plus they are real hard to get aftermarket parts for. I would just stick to a d16z6, its pretty much the strongest, and best for making power

yea def stick with either the y8 or z6....those are the strongest of the d series and are really cheap and easy to fix or replace

The D16A6 is the best D for building up (due to it being a bit stronger then the rest bottom end wise). The Z6 is great as well. This post is a bit too general, their where various D15's and D16's built both vtec, and non-vtec and their was also the DOHC D16(ZC). Wich two engines in specific are you trying to compare?
