the fuel pump on a 85 prelude has a negative and positive wire you have to bolt to the pump...(me being an ass) didnt pay attention when i took them off to replace the pump and now i dont know which is the negative and which is the positive wire....they are both black but one has a yellow line through it,would that one be the negative because the other wire is solid black

To tell a positive wire, cut the switch on, Ground the aligator clip of your test light, and put your test light probe on it, ..............a hot wire will light the light.

To find a ground.........Run a temporary wire from a known hot wire at the fuse panel or battery, touch your test light to the temp hot wire and suspected ground; and if IS is a ground, it lights.-Bob

If you need the use of a volt-ohm meter, let me know.-Bob 839-4281
