this is tru, but everyone does a swap. i've seen more civics with swaps rather than built sohc motors. Swap's make power, but you spend bout half as much play'n round with the Dseries

come on man...they are hondas , everyone does everything , and there is never MORE of one thing or the other( honda motor wise)...I know of more people " building" single cams , then i do people w/ swaps.

B series make power, D series don't , and dont give me that boost shit ..because i can build a ls vtec swap it in and still beat " budget Turbo d's" , fuck i put a 75 shot on it i can own BUilt d series.

Ill break it down like this , single cams are slow unless you drop a good amount of money on them anywhere from 1k-2500 .

Sorry for the thread jack joe.

Joe....do what ever you come across a good deal on. A6's are cheap , z6's are getting pricey these days , and a fucking d15b is just rediculous.

If it was me though , i would get a a6 , put some ZC pistons in it and do a OEM parts rebuild , and rock it . That is IF i did a single cam.

Thanks jake, now thats an answer i was looking for. Would those ZC pistons raise the compression? And would you lean more towards naturally aspirating the motor or turboing it? How big of a rebuild would you do? and screw me but isn't the ZcC the D16A1 that cam in 87-89 (i believe) integras?

ok nvm ZC is jdm but from what car??
A6 block/head w/ zc pistons = 11.34:1 compression

Heres the calculator for cross reference http://www.knology.net/~jediklc/D.htm

id use the a1 pistons personally, but jake knows more than i do. a lot of people on d-series favor the a1 over the zc. im not sure why though.

there are several different versions of zc's....soem people consider the a1's zc's , then there is the pre obd zc and the obd1 zc.

IMO i would take a a6 , put in some 86-89 integra ( a1 ) pistons , oem rods , arp rod bolts , have the complete roating assembly balanced. get a decent cam ( or even go vtec)....and some crome or some sort of tuning. you would see 140 ish whp and 120 tq.

And to ansewer your question. NO i personally would not turbo a single cam. They can make good power but it cost almost the same as a b series turbo.....

shti all this talk makes me want to take my crx and put in a a6/zc hybrid w/ a big ass shot. Who knows
