Exclamation LS swap into a crx?

Hey, can I stick a LS swap into a '87 CRX without changing anything? Also, if you put a B16 tranny on it, would it change anything too? I'm just getting into the Honda world, so I dont know too much yet. And does anybody know where a LS swap with a B16 tranny on it is, or just the LS swap?

You will ahve to change some thigns of course. You are swappign a DOHC motor into a body meant to have a SOHC. My buddy has a 89 crx Si with an 90 LS swap with a b16 trans. Shes quick, but needs traction when we put the b16 tranny in instead of the b18( baerly chirp second) the STOCK 1990 ls swap (in desperate need of a rebuild) spins THROUGH third, so yes the b16 trans makes a difference

And what kind of response is that "nope billy sry" cmon man make it look like your intelligence quota is over 87. I am in no way trying to insult you but please, if you dont have any useful information to put into a thread plus /end yourself

yes it is possible, you will need the standard swap things though. the mounts are the first thing to come to mind, http://hasport.com/Products/Mounts.htm this needs the cable tranny, but a b-series cable tranny will mount to the b18 even if it originally came with a hydro tranny. since the car is a cable clutch you will need a cable tranny, It might be possible to add a hydro setup to the car but it may be more of a hassle than it's worth plus if you already have a hydro tranny you should be able to trade, plus get some cash, with someone that has a cable b-series tranny. as stated above the b16 tranny has different gearing, but other than that your not going to see a difference. the speedo in that car is cable driven, so your tranny needs a cable driven vss (speed sensor), luckily the b-series vss's swap, and I have been told the d-series vss will bolt right in to a b-series. your other option with the vss is to use the electronic one and convert your cluster (there are tech write ups on the net).

If your lucky you have a multiport fuel injection car, I don't know if 87 had them or not, I know 88 did but not sure what year it started. if it isn't you'll have to convert the wiring, there are plenty of tech writeups on this too. you'll need axles for a b-series as well as the intermediate shaft. shift linkage will be needed.

As you can see there are several parts you will need for the swap, but it can be done, and without having to fabricate anything except maybe an odd cable bracket but nothing structural or intricate. http://hasport.com/catalog/index.php...84a284b5bfa582

hasport is your friend, they are $$$ but some items are worth it. you may be able to get stock axles from an integra instead of buying the hasport axles, the ecu from hasport is not needed although a conversion harness may be need to get the b18 ecu to plug into the oem crx plugs, for that harness contact 60-ek1 or mtber and they can point you in the right direction. For motor mounts and shift linkage though I would definately get hasport.

once you have the parts it's all pretty much bolt in.
