MM seeing that it is your first swap i wouldnt look into doing a k unless you plan on paying someone to do it for you. Id do something that will drop right in without madifacations like a JDM D15B perhaps 130hp for 400 isnt a bad deal to me

 

na man, i've done way to much research on ls/vtec, rebuilt gsr, or itr engines to go with a d series, i might do that for my lil brothers car. but not on mine, i will have my friends help me and take it to shops with other stuff, i think ill go with a k.


and which k motor should i look at?

k24 bottom end with k20 type s head

 

when i put the motor together, "the block with the head" will i need to do any modifications to do the k24 bottom end with k20 type s head or its just bolt on? and what tranny would i want to go with, not to expensive tho, im guessin type s tranny, right?

 

I was just thinking guys, if i get a TSX from auction which the exterior is all damaged and the motor and all that would be in good condition, what could i use from the tsx for the swap? and the entire car would be about 3gs what else would i need,?could i for now just put the entire motor in with im guessing a rsx tranny, and leave it like that till i get more money?

 

Only thing with that is the newer tsx will never go for 3g's nor will the insurance company let it go for that little belive me i've been their it's not in their best interest
pocket wise for a car that even wrecked will sell at auction for 5-10g's

Won a auction for a newer rsx-s and the insurance company wanted atleast 5g's and i won the auction for 3g's but they would not let it go.

Why because they told me its a low milage new car and they would lose alot of money that they paid out if they let it go for anything less then 5g's

I understand, but what if the car is really really bad. last friday, there was one in georgia that was all crushed, front, rear, top, everything, the only thing left in there was the interior, and engine, frame was all twisted, and it went for i think 4+, so i donno, ill try,

 

just to let you know cheap and k series do NOT go hand in hand
