no. When you take off the top shock bolt just put a towel over the nut when taking it off. It will kinda pop...recomend doing this in the grass. When you put on the coilover have a friend press the spring down while you put the nut on the shock. good luck, just watch out for the shock nut stripping, use some wd40 first--believe me i learned the hard way

if you need any of the old hardware, like the top spring seat then apring compressors would be the safest way to go. You can get them at autozone through the tool loan out, you pay like $40, then they refund you the money when you return the tool. if you set the coil overs to the lowest setting then you shouldn't need the compressor to re-install them, with normal drop springs you don't. If you don't need any of the old hardware then just unbolt the old upper nuts that hold in the shock/spring assembly and the lower bolt, then pull the unit as a whole.

uh...coilovers are complete units. you just bolt them in.

if they are JUST the spring parts, and you are keeping your oem shocks(for some crazy reason), then just listen to them^^^

I've seen a Top shock mount go through a wall once, I've also seen one nail a buddy of mine right in the chin and create a welt like no other, I've also seen the bolt and both washers get lost in the grass and never been found

In other words, DON'T Take the spring/shock appart without Spring Compressors.
Hell, PM me and I'll help you in some way.
I have two sets of compressors laying around the garage, I'm sure we can work something out if you wanna drive to the Hill.............

Yea, the OEM springs are wound pretty tight, aftermarker springs will be lower/less coils and not need a compressor as much, but If you enjoy any of your body parts, why chance it????? get the copressor at the parts store(rent it) and do it right!!!!, Some springs can come off with enough force to kill you!!! no BS, I have done countless suspension upgrages, some come off easy some were wound tight as Fu*k, Be careful!!!!
