Just replaced my altenator and now it seems that the battery is being drained every four or five day...Does anyone have any ideas....

 

you replaced it wrong.

Yeah but i have replaced an alternator before....but hell i will play along what may i have done wrong and how can i fix it...

 

did you make sure to plug it back in, and plug in the sensor?

does your car start right up?

maybe its just a bad alternator? buy it used?

 

only have one plug on the alt....its plugged in....all plugs are in and when i put the alt in the car started right up and it runs fine for about 4 or 5 days and now the battery is dead again....

 

have you taken it to advanced autoparts and have them test it? They'll tell you if it's your battery, alternator or both! Best of all, it's free!!!!!

 

Will they test it while parts are still in the car...

 

yup..takes em about 5 mins. They tell ya if your alts and/or battery are bad while in the car..

 

+1. your battery might not be holding a charge anymore or something

you should get your battery and charging system checked as suggested. just go to autozone or advanced and they can do it on the car. if you did have a bad alt before, it couldve just killed the battery especially if the battery is a couple yrs old.
