ok,i got a jdm obd1 p30 ecu.this ecu has no check engine code light on it.How do you tell what the code is if you are throwing one with these ecu's ?? WILL MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BLINK LIKE MOST NEWER ECU'S DO ?? P30's are a funny looking ecu's.almost half the size as a p72 etc.thanks for all the help..

 

u have to use a jumper wire on the service connector,I have a p30 also pm me if u still have trouble

 

if you don''t have a service connector, in the instance of an obd1 conversion, you can hook a toggle switch to one of the wires ( not sure which but mtber should know) and the other side to ground, if you throw a code you flip the switch and the check engine light will blink to show the code.

 

ya,i was just reading about that..I will figure it out.I am just trying to get an idea before a start all this shit.My obd1 conversion harness came with pretty good wire diagrams but says nothing about if not having a check engine light.

 

looking at the ecu from the plug side, with the release tabs on the top, you'll have the center plug ( the smallest) and to the right the 22 pin plug (2 rows of 11 pins). on the 22 pin port the bottom row, 2nd pin in from the left side. this is the wire that is labeled check engine light on my jkobd harness that I used in my crx when I did the obd1 conversion. I was using a p28 but the p30 pinout should be the same with the knock sensor being the only added wires.

p30's can have two cases. The smaller case is JDM from what I've researched.

I have two p30's and was wondering so I checked into it.
