boost on a stock block.
A properly built and tuned stock motor will run fine, However there is always a weak link.Depending on your goals, 250whp is fine and on a stock LS ( with tuning of course), If you plan on more, Pistons, rods and head bolts would be a good investment.

With rods and pistons You could safely make 450 Wheel HP as long as your tunning is good . Stock sleeves are pretty strong if not pushed to hard on Pump . Race Gas and proper tunning is your friend for Lots of power on stock sleeves ...
Someone on Honda-tech recently made 598WHP on stock sleeves with a GT35/40R

You also need to remember that even if you go with aftermarket sleeves and forged pistons/rods, that detonation will kill them never the less, forged or not. no matter what you do, you go lean even once that could be your azz
there is no point in making more power unless you can make the power in a safe manner with the help of a great tune. I cant stress enough on being as truthful to to your tuner as possible. You dont know how many customers I get that come to me and say, "oh I baby this car and dont rip it alot, i never bring it past 8K" yea right, sure buddy
.. If you feel you are an agressive driver than say so when tuning the car, so your tuner can mabye address the situation by running a little more conservative tune, while helping the motor last a bit longer through those rough drives... G/L with the setup!!

I always say this, but I will say it again.
1. Ask your self how fast you want to go.
2. Figure out how much power it will take to be that fast.
3. Figure out what components you will need to be that fast reliably.
4. Do it right

my plan originally was to boost on the stock block, get it street tuned. While im driving around doing my thing. Ill send the spare b18b block away to get sleeved.
OK to the tuning part. Can i just bolt up the turbo kit, take the wastegate spring out or just drive below 3000 rpms. driver to the tuner's, have him chip the ecu install the injectors and tune it???

I ran boost on my unchipped and stock injector LS and it pulled 7lbs and ran OK. Of course this is not a good idea, but the point is, you can drive it if you need to right after you bolt up the turbo.

ok i just want a simple fast car. I dont want to get all complicated, lsvtec - im gonna have to find a good engine builder, then there is always gonna be a doubt in my mind if my engine is built good then i gotta worry about a perfect tune and all the bs. To me vtec is just extra shit i gotta worry about. I am happy with my ls turbo setup.
I have been researching various turbo stuff for couple years now. i know how important a tune is. And yes i will most likey have mtber tune my car too. i would tune it myself but ill past on that theory
