Default air intake question

This may be a noob question but I am having a hell of a time finding the answer.

What air intake system do you use with a Turbo?

There are so many choices but I think they are mainly for NA.

Is a short ram good, or cold air intake? The AEM ones seem like they would be nice but they do not say if they are for turbocharged cars or not. Thanks.

If you have a turbo, then you wont use an "Intake"

Basically you SHOULD have an intercooler, and typically you just put a filter directly on the input side of the turbo. Then the output of the turbo goes through the intercooler/piping back to your intake manifold.

What he said^^^^.

If you don't like the filter being right behind the radiator, because of the warmer air in that area then you can use a piece of aluminum pipe ( paint with hightemp spray paint or powdercoat) and put it so that the filter is behind the headlight or some other area with cooler air. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT use a cai, DO NOT locate the air filter any lower than where it would be if it were attached to the turbo. Doing so puts you at greater risk of sucking up water from a shallow puddle. If you think hydro lock is bad on a regular intake, immagine with a turbo putting water in at exponentially faster speed, your 1.6/1.8 liter will be holding 3 liters.
