OK so....

A friend of mine, Jared, bought a 96 ls motor for his 94 dc shell. We dropped it in yesterday and hooked everything else up tonight. Everything was hooked up and ready to go. Started it up, idled perfect, no smoke, everything looking good. Gave it some gas, sounded good. We let it idle for about 10 minutes after checking all the connections and then jumped in for a ride.......almost......Jared put it in first, let out the clutch a little and it just bogged and died with the extra gayness of smoke pouring from the header(he's running off the header right now). This motor is from a reliable shop, and was complete. I'm guessing it blew the HG--white smoke and some sort of liquid from the header, maybe antifreez/water? Would that be the HG? Anyway, we did start it up again and it idled but still smoked a little-Giving it gas made much more. I also drove it down the driveway....didn't make it far..just smoke a shit load and started breaking up like crazy.....HELP

 

....and yes, everything IS hooked up correctly and with correct fluids, wires, etc...

dont expect to get alota help with a title like that.

 

? why not? honda's dont make you angry sometimes?

 

take the exu manifold off see if it is comeing from 2 or more chambers if it is only 1 then you might have a cracked csleeve or another problem

 

white smopke is coolant being burned off so my 2 cents is that the head gasket said bye bye.

 

This and the head gasket are a possibility

 

look at the oil and see if it has coolant in it.

 

ok...soo....jared let the motor run for a while, put some carb cleaner in it.... it stopped smoking!!!!!!!! I donno what happend, but it was deff wierd. Tranny is like butter and runs NICE!
