doing a motor swap

i have a 90 civic s.1. with the d16a6 and i have a d16y8 im putting in it i just wanna know what all do i need to get the vtec to work? can anyone give me some ideas? would be appreciated thankx

you might need a vtec controller, or chipped computer to make the engagement.
