well, im not sayin that ur poor or nething but its like ls vtec but both head and block are vtec and work well w/ each other. the b16a motor is the closest thing to a typeR w/o the displacement. but yes an itr swap is potent

As for tranny go, for boost longer is better, the less time you spend on shifting the more time you spend in BOOST!!, I run a LS tranny, with LSD, and I run threw the traps in mid-top 4th gear, 3rd gear will do 65-100(a little long 4th gear will do 100-138 and 5th??? I donno I have never shifted into 5th and boosted. But the gears are GREAT for boost. other than the 3rd gear being a tad long its a great tranny for boost and highway racing(not that I do that )

So If I were to mod a tranny for boost. I would use a LS (S80/Y80 hydro) trannys 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th And use a GSR 3rd. I dont think I would change the LS final drive outbut if I did I would go a hair shorter, mabye one that would drop about 4MPH from the entire range.. That would be MY!! tranny built of choice.. IMHO...

The GSR head and B16a flow so close under boost ,I would get which ever one can. If you have no plans of building it bottom end go with a GSR, flat top pistons and a little more cc is worth it. The GSR will make 300+ whp no problems bone stock.
