Hasport linkage and energy suspension, which is wrong?
I am putting a b16 sirII motor into my 93 civic hatch. I have the hasport mounts and the cable conversion for the a1 tranny. I bought the hasport linkage for the swap as well. I have energy suspension bushings for the shift linkage. The bushings say they cover a 99-00 civic, 92-95 civic, 92-95 del sol, 92-95 integra gsr, 88-91 crx. so the bushings should cover my 93 hatch, however the shift linkage that I got from hasport doesn't look like it'll fit with the bushings. Namely the bushing at the tranny end that is round and comes in 2 halves ( each being round but with a lip so as to sandwich the ring at the end of the linkage). the bushings are 1.25" dia, and the linkage is atleast a half inch bigger in diameter. I looked at the old linkage ( cut and weld) from my crx swap with the same motor, and the loop at the end matches the hasport linkage. so I am thinking that the bushings were mislabeled and the ones I have are actually for a different car and the stickers just got put on it by mistake. can anyone tell me if they have use the energy suspension bushings for this type of setup? and if so was it a direct fit or did you have to get the bushings for a different year model?
Thanks for the help.
Thanks for the help.
If you are reusing the linkage from your crx it won't work, and the bushing you have is for a SOHC transmission. You need to order the bushing for a 94+ Acura Integra or a 99-00 Civic SI. You would also need linkage from either of those cars. - poke.

Also keep in mind this motor came in the 92-95 civic hatch in japan, so while it is possible that they used a different shift linkage than what they were already producing, why wouldn't they just grab the 90-93 integra linkage, since that works for this swap as well? I don't have the answer but just seems odd.
post pics of the bushings

I just called hasport and they say that the rear bushing is the same for all of the civics/integras, but the front round one is different for the civics vs. integras and their linkage needs the 90+up integra bushings. I told him that my bushings say its for a 92-95 gsr but he said there is no way, the label on the package must be wrong. I will have to get a set from a local place like autozone and see how that works.
you sir got the single cam bushing, order one for a 90-00 teggy, that will get the job done.

yeah, the guy at hasport said the 90 and up teg works. This is just another instance of why you don't let someone else do a motor swap. the long story is somewhere on tr in several pieces, but the highlights are ( keep in mind I didn't know how to do a motor swap when this swap was done but I did know how to work on cars), the guy took a month to do the swap(b16 into crx), the hasport mounts I paid for were not used ( I didn't know cause the mounts were black and I had seen pics of black hasport mounts, or so the pic said), The guy said the hesitation in the motor was due to the crx si fuel pump not being good enough for the b16 (stock motor, I found out the plugs were gapped at .042), the msd coil wasn't installed because he said you had to have the msd ign box to use the coil. he said the shift patern (1st in 3rd position, 3rd in 5th, 5th in passenger thigh) was because I wanted to use my apc short shifter instead of an oem teg shifter ( cut and weld linkage was welded with a 45 degree rotation on the rod with the shifter mount plate) vtec wiring was 4 different short pieces of wire crimped together. shifter fell out from the shifter boot, the exhoust pipe held it up so that I could drive home ( he didn't replace the metal plate on the rear linkage bushing) and for the last several years I have found small instances of his shade tree mechanic work, this was all from a "reputable shop" with 2 locations. and now I find out, because of this thread, that the original energy suspension bushings for my 88 crx that I put on the shift linkage were stolen by him. The cut an weld linkage from the crx has the bigger loop which means my stock linkage had the smaller loop, which matches the 92-95 civic loop, which is why I bought the 92-95 bushings for this swap, I thought since the crx linkage was cut and welded and the civic and crx use the same bushings then I was good, had I known the cut and weld was integra then I'd have gotten that to begin with.
Just to clear up any confusion, I am not using the cut and weld. hasport linkage, hasport b-series swap mounts with hydro to cable conversion, hasport vtec sub harness, hondata s200 with dataloging and romeditor ( left over from crx turbo project) new oem 93 teg axles ( I have the 93 teg non-abs half shaft), del sol vtec a/c bracket, 93 teg rear mount bracket, and all the other proper parts....and most importantly, I am doing this in my driveway with the help of my dad and his engine lift. I will never again let anyone do anything to my car, except mount the tires on the rims, I will bolt them on, and window tint. everything from alarms, to jdm rear conversion, to oil change I will do myself.
thanks guys for the help and if any part of this can be pasted into a sticky for reference on what bushings to use with the swap go for it and feel free to delete my mechanic bashing rants.
