Default b-series Final Drives

Would anyone know if there is a way to just look and tell if the final drives are different? I bought the jdm 4.785 final and counted the teeth and there were 66 on the ring. I looked at the teeth in a b16 and usdm type r and there was 66 also. Just wondering if i got screwed. If anyone could help thanks!!

you only did half the equation.

devide the ring tooth gear by the pinion gear tooth count
