Default install question

Im about to put in a 255 fuel pump in me teg. I couldnt find out any info on the amount of fuel that should be in the tank? I would imagine little fuel would be safer, but should I have a certain amount to get the new pump started? Ill take my question off the air.

as odd as it sounds the more fuel the safer for this one reason, the liquid isn't whats burning its the fumes, so the more fuel in the tank the less area to have fumes, which could be set off by a spark ( according to aircraft maintenance procedures on military jets). as long as you don't have to lower the tank, having the added weight isn't an issue. if you do have to lower the tank, less fuel and just be realllllly careful. I realize jet fuel is different than regular old gas but the principle is the same.

To get the pump started you need to cover the fuel pickup.
It doesn't matter otherwise, as long as you don't ignite it!
.............then......a full tank has less fumes to ignite.-Bob

you have to drop the tank so I would go less fuel then put some more in when you are ready to start it.. just make sure it works before you put it back up

you dont have to drop the tank to change the fuel pump... it took me 15 minutes to change mine. simply remove the access cover under the rear seats and then disconnect the lines and electrical stuff and then loosen the bolts and the pull the pump out SIDEWAYS. hope this helps..

It depends on what year Integra. I guess they Assumed it was a DA.
On a 91-93 you HAVE to drop the tank. on newer models you dont cause its under the rear seats. Just like on civics. 91 and older you have to drop it like its hot. and on EG you dont.
