vtec
i have a 94 gsr i need to know if it will hurt anything if i hook my vtec to a toggle switch or to the throttle and when i should turn it on if i should turn it on from an idle or wait til i'm up around 2-3 k rpm range
yes it will hurt. do not do this. if this was a good idea don't you think more people would be doing it?

The best engine in the world is the vagina, it takes any size piston, its self lubricating, starts with 1 finger, and every 4 weeks does its own oil change. It's just a pity the management system is so fucking temperamental.
and when I say hurt I mean performance wise...your car will be slower...

not only will it hurt performance but you will be running the fuel maps for low rpm while the valves are opening for high rpms, timing will be off, and basically with long term use the engine life is decreased. also the vtec piggyback controllers do the same thing, so unless you get a controller that will also adjust your fuel map the controller will do the same as the toggle. get your ecu socketed and a rom editor or get it chipped, anything else is just bad engineering.

Would be just like having a higher lift/more duration cam/s at low rpms thereby almost totally eliminating vtec
