Unhappy SOrry to throw this slew of questions on you...

I'm having a bit of issues with a car my sister just bought off my aunt that was said to be in pretty decent condition; it isn't really.

95 Honda Accord.

Issues are -
+Tachymeter disconnected or otherwise non-functioning
+Gas sometimes shows as half full when it really only has about 1/8th of a tank left
+D4 light keeps blinking
+Sometimes doesnt start up // have hard time starting up
+rough strange idling sound and drops down to what looks like 300 rpms

Otherwise the car is fine... if you can say that

its an auto tranny.
We know we have to replace it soon anyways, but i'd also like to know if its the root of any problems above.

Anyways...! Any answers to any of these problems would be muuuuuch appreciated!

thanks in advance.

yea, replace the battery, check the battery terminals for corrosion, check the starter cable. then get an induction/injector cleaning job at a local shop, not all shops have induction cleaning, but it will be Well worth it on any car that is over 5 years old. it will clean all the carbon buildup in the EGR system, the intake manifold, intake and exhaust ports, and valves, etc.

if your aunt is elderly and didnt drive much, injector cleaning is a Must, gasoline goes bad after a couple of months, and older folks can use 1 tank of gas for like a whole year. one run of bad gas and your injectors will be practically useless.

after that its all electrical problems, need to take it to a mechanic to get the problems identified

Thanks you guys, will do.

Its just weird though, when i bought my 94 nissan altima GLE, practically nothing was really wrong with it, i mean just little stuff, and i believe it was used just as much as the accord.

I'll definately go with the injector cleanings first, since my aunt had just bought a brand new SUV and had stopped using the accord.

Doesnt make much sense though since i drove it up from miami to tampa, didnt have any problems at all, a week later it started up with all of this crap, minus the tachometer and the gas meter thing....
