Default d16z6 build up questions

heres the deal. i recently bought a 95 cx shell and purchased a d16z6 for it. i was planning on building it all motor and was looking around for a stroker kit but couldnt find one. i did some more research and found that not many people made that much power out of the d-series all motor. my question is this.... is the d-series a good power plant? i dont have enough money for a swap so thats out of the question. what kind of numbers have people got out of the d16z6? would i get better results form turbocharging it or should i build it for n02? any info is greatly appreciated. thanx

If your going to build a SOHC ..... Boost it. If you build it right you can get good power from it.
I would rather personally Drop a B series in.

ttt. ive seen alot of people boosting these. what would be the best turbo for this kind of thing? i want something that doesnt have that much lag but will hold boost until redline. i also read in sport compact magazine that the stock motor can hold up to 10psi. is that true? and what would i need to run more than that?

i would use a gt series turbo for quick boost and good power. you can pull 14lbs out of a stock motor it all depends on who's tuning it and with what. tuning is a major factor wether 6lbs or or 16lbs. injectors are a must. if on a budget go with some dsm's and a resistor box. g/l i have a built single fixin to go in my hatch.next is the turbo kit. also gudeperformance has a great head package for the z6 and the cam is great(personal experience) g/l again

Man homemade turbo kit it up. HF mani, DSM 14b Turbo, DSM 1g bov, DSM 450cc injectors, walboro GSS 341, ebay IC, fresh plugs, wires, Crome Tune by MTBER, etc. end of discussion. look for 210-220 whp. More power than a B series swap, and better on the pockets.

if you don't want to used a resistor box, a set of RC 440 injectors will work nice.. my lil brother just got done boostin his hatch with a d15b and he is actually running RC 550s. it all just depends on how much boost you are looking to do.. and personally i wouldn't go too much over 9lbs of boost on stock internals
