Default Help Troubleshooting CRVTEC CRX DX

Helloooo, havent posted in tech in a while, but that means i havent had anything stump me in a while.... OK, heres the scoop. Ive had my crvtec setup for a couple months now, runs fine, been nitrous'ed, boosted, and n/a. I recently took the turbo kit off, transferred the motor from a 90 integra to a 90 crx dx. Ive done the harness modification before, so i have it all done up to mpfi. NOW, the problem, the car had really stinky old nasty gas in it. I tried to start the car the first night on that gas....It started kinda, spitted and sputtered and even backfired a couple times. After that I went inside and went to sleep.

Funny thing is, i went outside and found that the wiring was pinned a little funny under the hood by the resistor. LOL, wierd, no way the car shoulda ran with it the way it was. Anyways, I fixed the wiring, and drained the old gas, and put 2 gallons of 93 in. I changed the plugs later on and now the car can start up half ass. But, IT RUNS LIKE SHIT!!!

This motor ran perfect in the DA, but the EF has to give me the trouble obviously. So maybe someone can help me. I took out the 450's, cleaned the b16's and put them in, cleaned the fuel rail out and primed the fuel pump with the fuel line off the fuel filter to kinda purge the new gas through. Another thing i did, I had a wobbly rotor in my b16 dizzy, so i took the newer looking one from the dx dizzy in it because it fits, and its clean. ( Will that cause any problems? ) I put a stock pr3 ecu in the car, double checked all the wiring. c1 c2 correct, b10 b12 correct, a3 a7 correct, and my a8 and b5 vtec stuff wired up. That should be it from my past experiences, but I guess im wrong this time. When it comes to my own car obviously lol. The car turns on, doesnt really even respond to throttle unless you press it rapidly or lightly and shit. Breaks up/backfires EXTREMELY nastyly loud and annoying. Bounces the tach and shit very rapidly as well. Makes barely ANY POWER. So does anyone have any thoughts on what the problem(s) might be?

I was thinking maybe fuel pump, maybe if it sat forever, the old corroded gas and stuff maybe got to it. OR maybe the DX rotor on the b16 dizzy. Thats really all i can think of, I never had to deal with this on a dx conversion. If you have any educated guesses ill really appreciate them, i need to fix it soon so i can get back on the road like tomorrow or the next day!!!! Thanks in advance you guys.

know a little something from my experinces but far from a guru. maye the problem lies in the dizzy (coil or ignighter) or could be a bad detonated plug.

spend 8 bucks and get a new rotor...... you did remember the tps wires right?.....check to see if the spark seems week or strong.....can you hear the pump kick on still?....does it sound week?....(or just use a fuel guage to check it)........

**this might be a long shot but check the main relay...ive had a couple that didnt go out completely they just sucked like shit

sounds like something to do with the timing and/or ignition. I would double check the distributor wiring, injector wiring, and also try a new rotor, preferably one for that dizzy. Also, i don't mean to offend you, I would check the plug wires to the distributor. I had a similar problem one time and it was because I had accidentally crossed two of the plug wires while connecting them to the distributor.
