is there a way i can tell what year my tranny is? if so, what do i look for?

 

im not sure that u could tell what year the tranny itself is, what kind of tranny is it? is it a b16, b18, or b20, or a d-series, f-series, or h-series tranny, if its a b-series im pretty sure that its a hydro tranny. and if its a hydro tranny, im also pretty sure it has to be at least a 94 or above. sorry for the lack of help, at this point thats all i can do for u. good luck.

 

its a d series. i was told it was an si, but i would like to know if its an ef or eg. the motor is a d15b2, and my sedan is an lx, meaning the tranny has been replaced. how much closer is the eg si tranny than the ef si tranny?

 

i know the ef is a cable tranny. and i am pretty sure the eg is a hydro. what year is the eg?

 

im rockin an ef. its an 88 lx sedan.

 

if it is an si tranny it will have 9000 stamped into the casing an hf will have a 100 stamped in the same place, i know this because i just put an si tranny in my rex, the difference is night and day

 

i cant tell u what year the tranny is but i know for sure ur motor needs a cable tranny (if u have the motor that came in the 88 ef). just try to line it up and see if it fits. good luck man.
