Well the bolts main purpose is to clamp the pressure plate. The dowels provide a tight fit to the pressure plate and prevent any rotational movement of the pressure plate relative to the flywheel. The bolts on the other hand are not a tight fit and even when clamped down might be prone to provide a small degree of movement under hard launches and shifts. This action might cause the bolts to back out over time. This is just my theory on why I wouldn't run it without dowels I have no proof this will happen, just how my brain thinks it might happen.

i see what your saying KJ. When i pull the flywheel off the car ill try and pull a pin out and put it in this flywheel, hopefully it will come out without a fuss. Thanks again for the info
