Default h22 knock sensor

have 95 h22 in 95 ex civic and it is throwing knock sensor code. just wanted to know how important is this and does it mess with v-tec. i read i might not be getting full potential power when v-tec kicks in. but car runs fine with code thrown.

Do you have one hooked up? Helps with detonation very useful sensor imo.

It only 2 wires either one is bad/loose or the sensor is. I do not know how much they are new but you can get them on Ebay for like $35.00 delivered. Just ordered one for a customers Y8 swap.

if your vtec kicks in at all it's at full power, honda won't let you in vtec if thier is something really bad, so once you hit vtec it disregaurds those codes.

Theres a good idea If VTEC engages its on it is not progressive it is on or off. You may not get full power though because it may not advance timing all the way since it sees a fault in one of its primary VTEC sensors to save the engine. I am not 100% sure if the honda ones work this way but I know that factory turbo cars work this way to save engine from overboosting and detonation. My 2 pennies
