vtec problem

Default vtec problem

i was driving on i-4 when my vtec was kicking in and out , my check engine light came on , i pulled into a store and checked my oil witch was very low ,so i went and had a oil change , my check engine light is still on and my vtec doesnt really kick in anymore .. dont really know whats going on with it ,, car runs fine , it just doesnt have the vtec kick anymore ....

i would check to see what CEL code it is throwing there are a few things that it could be throwing that would cause the vtec to not engage.

check the spool screens that they are not dirty and the connections to the solenoid.

Make sure that none of your wires from the VTEC pressure switch aren't grounding out... for example, from the switch to the ECU.

vehicle speed sensor is another possibility.

check the solenoid, a wire is probably loose.

First things first, what if any CEL are you getting from the ecu???
If it's a 22 (two long flashes and two short) which is low oil pressure/oil pressure switch, it may be just a bad ground wire.
