I just slapped a ls/vtec in a crx with a stock hood.the hood will not close a good 1"+ i will get a pic in my gallery to show tomarrow.it sits pretty dam high.in the pics it looks a good 2".its pretty much a race shell so i am going to buy a differant hood or just cut the one for now.i just dont want my engine sticking out the hood.i know i have spaced some down with b16's but shit this would take way to much to get it down that far.i have hasport mounts and i have seen ls/vtecs in crx's with no hood issues.even if i cut the hood support only it will still hit so that means engine sticking out of the hood and every one will know what time it is besides it being gutted.I just know that alot of peaple have ls/vtec crx's and PLEASE let me know how you fixed it or the hood is about to get the cutter untill i get a new hood....thanks guys

 

I had to cut the whole skeleton out of my hood, and adjust the spring to latch as far away as it could, and it was SOOOOOOOOO close to hitting it wasnt even funny, I had Place Racing mounts though...

 

Well... to start things off, I've never owned a crx w/ an LS/Vtec so I dont know where the hood is making contact and what its making contact with!!! I used to have my hood raised like this to be able to fit my strut bar/ and for looks but now I have an oem one so I put it back to normal!!! (my hood still is a B*tch to close w/ the oem one) Anyways, Its hella big out in Cali to have your hood raised. Some say it helps w/ heat temps under the hood but I dont know??? Anyways, here are some pictures of what I'm talking about!

Honestly, I don't like that hood raising shit, my turbo DA did that b/c it didnt close all the way in the back for some reason, and I HATED it, thought it made the car look wrecked, thats just my $.02

 

ya,that hood raising shit looks like crap..i will just get a vis carbon hood cause they go out in the center not in like oem hoods.i was just wondering what peaple do cause i know everyone with a ls/vtec crx has this same problem.i need to get a pic up of it from the side..man its high..its a dam race shell anyways so fuck it..i will just cut the hood till i get a VIS hood..

 

Oh yeah... well forget the both of you ... yeah I thought the same thing after looking at my car for a while, thats why I took the 3 point strut bar off and put the hood back to regular!!! lol,its cool man..we all dont like the same stuff..i would rather just get the right hood..

 

i had that problem all i did was adjust the spring and it latched fine.

 

it straight hits the hood..there is a 1/2 inch gap in the front by the fenders when hood is down.thats how high it sits.if i cut the hood the whole top of the valve cover would stick out.
