SOHC Cam Timing

this seems like a stupid question to me but o-well lol can you gain some performance from changing the cam timing on a 16v single cam motor?

sure you might gain something... but it is really not worth playing with... what you will gain is not worth the lose in gas mileage...

o0o really i didnt think you would gain anything cause its a SOHC

hmm ok well then how do you determine how far to change the cam timing on a DOHC?

do you really have a honda???

anyway what you would gain from something like this really isnt messured in HP... because you wont even be making an extra one... lol

you cant really tell on the street too much you would need a dyno, but typically with some bolt ons, you can advance it a bit and pick up some power.

rotate the dizzy toward the firewall=advance

Yeah... not worth it!!!

Retard it to help with spool down low, advance it for more power up top...

Mostly only real power gain would be from a custom ground cam that may be off center.
