Default turbo question

ok heres my set up
b18b
SRP Pistons 8.5 comp
Eagle Rods
KMS blockguard
Rev Hard stage 2C Turbo Kit
turbo smart wastegate
greddy bov
T3/T04E precision turbo
Exedy Stage 3 clutch
greddy profec EBC
HKS timer
2.5 piping
FMU w/inline fuel pump
daily boost running 7psi

now nothing seems wrong with the car it pulls like a mofo and starts to
lose traction.. but my concern is when i shift something under the hood make a rattle snake sound.. its real hard to explain unless you hear it.
i know what the bov sounds like but im not sure if its adjusted right
could it be the noise of a waste gate? its running open atmosphere.
or is it a compressor surge, but theres no lose of power @ all
anyone ?

well i just went outside to mess with it.. its at the softest setting and i even went as far as to remove one spring. this causes it to leak because i feel air coming out the bov and i still here the rattle ..
its comming from the air filter thats on the turbo so yeah its gotta be compression surge.. my only other thought is that i have the profec B spec II the wastegate the boost gauge and the BOV running off the same vaccume ...
could this be the problem ? not enought vaccume to work the bov so its not opening fast enought to release pressure? maybe i can shorten my vac line? or tap into another line ? any ideas?

Like metal ratling our air moving. It could be the wastegate if it is like you said dumping to atmosphere. Or compressor surge, kinda hard to tell without hearing it.

Does it do it under load only, running, or will it do it parked if you rev it up?

it will do it both .. and the sound does not come from the wastegate.. its from the filter that is on the turbo

Ok take the filter off and try again, make sure there's nothing in there loose.

If it happens again, try to adjust the BOV.

Its is because you have too many vaccuum's tee'd off of one source... They all need independent sources... I would invest in a vaccuum manifold if i were you

seems good for now but that compressor surge sounded cool as hell
but now my boost gauge is reading 6 psi .. might need to adjust that BOV a bit more ,,
might be a leak

Do not tap into the pcv vaccuum source... Thats a good way to clog all of your vaccum lines with oil... As I said before, get a vaccuum manifold, and tap it into the brake booster BEFORE the check valve...
