run a charging system test, check loose for loose cables, grounds etc.. wires. Check the fluid in your transmission. For the speedo make sure its corretly fitted into the vss* not really a sensor opperated but you know what i mean. Make sure that the clip is there and installed correctly. Take the gauge cluster out and check to see if there is anything keeping it from turning the odometer. Maybe its binding up*grease dirt something. All simple problems just got to take alook at it get your hands dirty. Do one problem at a time. The transmission problem with it not going into first gear on cold start up could be something like the fluid in your transmission.

Technically your car is not a EF-9 or 8 its ED. Unless your driving on the right side of the road all the time.

check the plugs that go into the gauge cluster(in the back of cluster) besure there getting a good connection & not unplugged..if its not that then would have to see in person to find problem..
