Oil Light On, car is beeping??????WTF??????
Ok so I'm checking some of the little things wrong with the new car, 92 Integra LS. It's been running great, so I don't think much about it.
The tach, temp, and fuel gauges are not working. THe clock isn't either. I start checking the fuses and I see the one for the gauges is just gone... I'm thinking who would do that and why. I put a new sensor in and sure enough the gauges all start working, BUT
the oil light comes on, and the car starts beeping, kinda like when you have a door open, but it is a little faster, I think it is coming from the ECU area.
I have never seen this in any of my cars. Could it be low oil pressure, more than likely. What can cause this?
I neew help just got this car saturday. Car is completely stock, with 235k miles, yes a hell of a lot of miles, but florida miles are all on flat roads. Oil looks good, brand new.
This sucks, I can't drive this car, and my WRX is also fucked. I sold my civic yesterday. I'm going to have to drive a minivan.

thanks in advance for your help.

Check the oil sensor on the back of the block , make sure it is plugged up or not broken....
i have never heard of this happening either...
pull the bulb for the oil light on the back of the guage cluter

never seen this happen before but if i had to guess i would say its prolly the intergrated control unit, the small box that plugs into the under dash fuse box. because the icu controls the seat belt (beep) indicator the noise you hear and the oil pressure light is told by the control unit to do the bulb check when you first start the car. try to pop someone else's in.
OK this got me thinking, for a second I thought the oil light might be associated with the beeping. But the automatic seat belts don't work either. The driver's stays closed, so I can put the seat belt on fine, but the passenger's side stays I guess you can say open, to the front of the car, it doesn't slide back.
Whatever is causing this, could be causing the beeping, because the seatbelts aren't working right.
I'll check the oil pressure switch, maybe the wire is just unplugged or something like that. I can check the actual pressure with a gauge, If I have pressure, then it could be electrical.
I'll check the ICU, what other years and models can I use. I have access to EF's and EK's from friends.
Bulb Check? Just check if they all turn on when the key is turned?
Thanks for your help and Ideas.

all your problems revovle around the seat belt, same crap happened to my friend except for the oil light. you have to disconnect the plug going to the seat belts or fix them.

Ok so that's the beeping.....no biggie then, but it sounded like the car was counting down to blow up
. What usually breaks in these seat belt systems? Just to check that first.
I will buy an oil pressure guage and check the pressure, we'll see what happens.

if i were you i wouldnt drive it, when my oil light came on, it was because the oil pump gear drive shattered......i tell you from experience, might as well just check the oil pump and/or sensor....thus why its good to have an oil pressure gauge....
