Default ignition problem?

so i usually turn the key to the "on" position, wait for the fuel pump to pressurize(engine light turns on then off when ready) the fuel injection and then start the car. about 2 years ago it would start then stall, i would repeat the start up procedure and nothing, no fuel pump. so i change the fuel pump and all is well. then about a month ago it does it again and i ask a buddy of mine and he says it sounds like the ign switch it dirty, spray some wd40 in it and turn the key on and off several time, so i do it and all is well. so yesterday it starts happening again, and again today. i turn the key several times on and off and eventually it starts. has this happened to anyone else?? any and all info would be appreciated

Some people put in an ignition overide switch to spin the starter, when it
requires that you turn the key several times to crank it.
Switches are cheaper than another key/hassle.-Bob

what year and modle is it because it is very common for the electrical contacts to wear on 98-00 civics and 97-99 accords. if your car is i n those years its a recall and you will get it fixed for free.

does it do it mostly when its really hot outside? i had the same problem.i would get out of class, and the fuel pump didnt kick on, and no start, then sometimes 10 min later it started right up. sometimes i had to leave it for 6 hours before it worked, very aggravating.Main fuel/fuel pump relay was bad. i got it 60$ from honda.

you can take the main relay out and resolder the joints to see if it is a main relay. the solder joints get dry and crack. and when its hot out the solder joints seen to loosen up and you wont have a contact. but usually a main relay will cause the car start then stall to just crank and cranck with no start till the relay cools down
