Default promblem with shifter

I got a problem with my shifter, Its to close to me and its hard to get it in 2nd gear. When I go to shift it from first gear to second the shifter bumps into my seat. Could anyone give me some info in what I could do to prevent that from happening. What do I need to do any info will help.

Probably have some home made cut/weld linkage, get some swap linkage and you will be good to go..

if i knew what setup you are runnning i might be able to give you a good answer. but jack it up and see if the linkage is bent, maybe you bottomed out and fucked it up. if the shifter has those ball bearings you could have broken those too. or maybe the bolt that goes through the middle of the shifter. i had that happen once.

Get some new linkage...i recommend HASPORT......but if you arent baller status , go with some cut and weld. ANd get a new shifter assembly.

Its a b16 into a 91 hatch. The linkage came with the swap and I had to shorten down but its like I was saying its bumping my seat on 2nd gear. So my best way is to order a hasport linkage. That should solve my problems as well.

yeah get the hasport linkage it is the replica of the jdm ef sir, the cause of this could be that your stabilizer bar is loose you know the bar next to the actual shifter bar. i had a cut and weld linkage on the exact same setup and it shited like SHIT! i was hanging up in gears, hard to go in gears and hard to go in reverse, i then got a hasport one off of a friend with the same swap but in a 88 hatch (no difference) and from then on it was ALL BUTTA BABY. do you have swap mounts like hasports? if so will work well together. thats the swap mpounts i have. good luck.

Then hasport is the way I'll go.
