91civic to 91crx motor & turbo swap

Default 87civic to 91crx motor & turbo swap

I want to put a dual cam 1.6 zc motor with turbo and intercooler in my crx, What I want to know is if the piping and header are going to fit. In a perfect world I WANT TO TAKE IT ALL OUT OF THE CIVIC AND DUMP IT INTO MY CRX WITH NO PROBLEMS. Is it possable...

hey a zc will drop right into it and the charge pipes from a 92-95 civic will work as well you already got the battery relocated, you may have to make modifications on teh crossmember for the downpipe tho, and what happed to teh ct. plate lol

ttt....Which dist. do I use? Can I use my MSD coil and cap with the crx dist. or the civic dist?

Do you know how to read? I don't know which dist. to use once the motor is in the car.
motor is a zc 1.6 dohc car is a 91' crx can you help or not.

is it a 91 civic to a 91 crx? or 87 civic to 91 crx.

91 to 91, it's a straight drop, everything is the same.

Mount points on the 87 and earlier civics are different than the 88-2000 civics.
Not sure what year engine you have, but it's like this, 1st gen integra engines, d16a9 I believe, are just like ZC's but will not fit the 88-91 civics/crx. Not sure if there's a family of DOHC ZC that also had different mounts points, I think they are.

If you are using the old Distributor system from the 3rd gen civic, it won't work on the CRX.

Maybe someone understands better now and can give you more information about it.

my friend Steve has a 91 Honda CRX Si with the 1.6 ZC engine and turbo in it. Hopefully he'll chime in on this thread to be of some help.

I know from hearing about his project he did a lot of test and fits because he basically made it a junk yard turbo (and his CRX is far from junk yard status).

Are your concerns in the wiring? If so hopefully a wire god, i.e. Kevin from CMS, will drop in to give some knowledge as well.

Its hard to all talk the same lingo but HOPEFULLY that is when people come in to help out.
