Default starter making sparks and fuel pump question

i tried to fire up my gsr for the first time yesterday and the engine turned over but did not start. the starter was throwing sparks out of somewhere, i couldnt see where. does anyone know why the starter would be thowing sparks? all the wires are tight and nothing is touching where it shouldnt. iv never seen this happen before.

and i have no expierance with stock integra fuel pumps. are they suposed to be real quiet? because i can hear mine but its WAY quiet. i have to put my ear on the metal cover in order to hear it priming for the 2 seconds. the car sounds like its not getting enough fuel. i have yet to check for spark and whatnot. ill prolly do that later tonite. thanx.

one or both of the bushing in the starter might have worn(normal wear) which tilts the starter and grounds it to the case, you could be sending all that current to the case causing the sparks. if thats the case, just replace the starter.
