Default Top Dead Center, 96 Accord LX

Hey Guys,

Im having a bit of trouble getting my car to top dead center on cylinder 1 so i can adjust the valves, the mark that is supposed to be on the crank pully isnt there so i fi pull the disty cap off and when the rotor is pointing to the number one cylinder plug is that top dead center or no? i know it needs to be on intake side when you adjust them...if anyone has any idea let me know thanks,

mike

remove the cyl1 spark plug and take a long screwdriver and place it down the spark plug hole and wait for the screwdriver to be at the highest point and that will be tdc and it will either be the (end of the exhast stroke start of the intake stroke) or (the end of the compression stroke start cumbustion stroke) the distributor rotor will tell you that but reguardless if the cam is not opening a valve (on tdc) you will be able to adjust the valves (4valves on that cylinder)

hope this helped
