i have an d16z6..will any d serie block work for my head?or not?.

i know an d16z6 is an sohc vtec will any d-serie block still engage the vtec?

the block isnt what engages vtec.. but yes any block will work and youll have vtec.. try to get a d15b7.. those are easly to find.

kind of. if it is not an original vtec block you will have to remove the oil jet between the #2 and #3 cylenders. but yes vtec head will bolt up to any block, +1 for the d15b7

+3 on the D15B7 stock internals with a Z6 head I hear it makes the compression ratio go up to around 10.1

did a mini me for my friend with a d15b7 bottom end and a d16z6 head the head was milled and used a y8 head gasket for even more compression. raced a stock gsr and beat it. only problem is try and pick up a ex or si tranny because dx and others have such long gear ratio

The tranny really helps. Im still trying to find one for my mini me.

I have an ex tranny hydro it belongs to a customer of mine Im not sure of the condition of it its been sittin at my shop I can see if he wants to get rid of it
