The best engine in the world is the vagina, it takes any size piston, its self lubricating, starts with 1 finger, and every 4 weeks does its own oil change. It's just a pity the management system is so fucking temperamental.
IF you got cash h22 requires a lot of modification depening what year civic you putting it in, not that much cash get a b-16 with all the bolt ons should keep you happy for a long time or if you are new to this stock would be gravy. if you have some cash saved up get the in between all around motor the GSR. v-tec is sweet and speed is addictive so be careful and do not get yourself broke
id say ur best bet is the h22..its cjeap for the performance and well worth it when its done..the only thing ull have to worry about is axles....my friend has a h22 hatch and its pretty sick and well worth the time
good luck
good luck

h22's ARE NOT HARD To swap ....this is a common misconseption among people who havent done an h22 swap.....I don't even know how one would compare a h22 to a b16.....that is like comparing a 4.3 chevy v6 to a big block 427...it jsut doenst make sense.
The main thing that it really depends on is how much money you want to spend....b16 is going to be more cost effective , because they are cheap cheap....h22 really arent that expensive either , me and a couple of friends jstu did a swap into a 99 civic coupe , and it only cost the guy about 4200 complete....and when you add all the cost up a gsr swap would cost about the same.....
and being "relistic" not going by online specs , a b16 puts down around 135hp and 110 ft/lb at the wheels , give or take ...a h22 puts down around 165hp and 150 ft/lb tq at the wheels..
and if you buy a HCB kit you can use a b series tranny and axles and mounts , making the swap suuuuuuuuuper easy.
IMO i wouldnt mess with a b16 unless i was a broke bitch.... h22 ....
