Default ok I'm lost - obd1 code 22 *read*

Ok car is throwing a code 22 - VTEC pressure valve

I've already tried/done the following:

checked oil level
I've done all my voltage checks, continuity checks, resistance checks for the switch, the solenoid and the wires in the harness involving the switch and solenoid etc.
I swapped out a good known pressure switch and a good known ECU.
I checked oil pressure and it was within vehicle specifications.
I jumped the Vtec solenoid and yes, it clicks.
I pulled apart the solenoid and the screen is fine, everything is clean. the plunger operates properly
checked for oil leaks. there is a small oil leak at the oil pan for the turbo return line, but it's minor and def not big enough to cause a pressure loss.

The only thing i have yet to try is swap a good known vtec solenoid assembly.

If it's not that I'm lost.
anyone have any other ideas?

IT has to be something in the wiring , in between the pressure switch and the ecu...im guessing something shorting out..... That is honestly the only thing that i can think of...but you said u checked for contunity , so i guess that isnt right...hmmmmmmm

Switch and Valve two seperate things, Swap the Assymbly. You prolly have a clog you cant check Pressure without the engine running and in VTEC if you have Trash in the valve or a Bad Seal/o-ring you throw a code. get a New Assy.

see that's the only thnig i can think of. is that there's something internal that an electrical check won't find or a visual inspection can't see.

cold-beer - hey bro, ya i remember meeting you, I was omw to orlando and met you and your buddy at arby's

I ended up having to sell it to pay off some bills.
I actually found it at a local junk yard like a week ago. the guy i sold it to wrecked it bad lol.
now it's a 92 hatch with a crushed as hell front end conversion.

owel way to hijack my own thread lol

If you checked the wires and the computer, the onlything left is the entire solenoide. swap that one with a good known one. I might have one that I can let u borrow to try it. But its been in my closet for a while so im not sure if it is good anymore. If you can get your hands on 1 that is known to be good, that would be the best thing to do. You also might wanna just put a Vtec light on that SOHC since Vtec sometimes is hard to feel or hear on a SOHC. PM me if you need this solenied that I have or if you need help puting the Vtec light on it.

Swapped in a good known solenoid today and still getting the code 22.

the light comes on when i hold the RPM's anywhere above 5k (where i have vtec set)

i can hold it right below 5k and the light won't come on, but as soon as it tries to engage vtec... it dosen't, and the light comes on.

i dunno what else now except the light never came on before tuning.

if anyone has a p28 socketed and wants to help. i have 2 other test to make but need another socketed p28.
if anyone can assist me lmk!!

thanks

adam
