Default LS/VTEC turbo/ basic dohc questions

Ok. I have quite a few questions dealing with my current project (ls in a crx).
I just bought an ls motor for my 89 hf. I should have my tranny, dizzy, and ecu on friday hopefully. After i get all that crap, I of course need the wiring conversion, axles, mounts, and shift linkage. As soon as i get the car going (a few weeks hopefully), I'm gonna save up for a gsr or b16 head. After that i plan on boosting. I was wondering if i could use a turbo manifold like the drag log style in place of a regular header or exhaust manifold. Also, do all b series headers fit? Will the same aftermarket intake manifold fit my ls head and the gsr head im going to get? Another thing is cams. I saw somewhere that buddy club spec three cams were good for ls/vtecs. Why would this be? Particular duration and lift? Are there any ls/vtec experts on tr with massive experience? Hit me up I guess i just really wanna know any brand specific parts that work the best with ls/vtec applications in general. Thanks guys.

CAMS...
large lift + small duration = good for turbo apps.
small lift + long duration = good for NA apps.

So when you get your cams, you'll need to decide if they will be for NA phase or boost.

good luck with the project.

Honestly save the money on the cams and run stock gsr. Put the money you were going to spend it elsewhere like on an LSD.

You may not want to worry about the vtec head right now and put that money into QUALITY turbo components so you won't be needing to swap parts out later for better pieces, get the better pieces to start off. A good running ls turbo can put down close to 260+whp if you set it up right and tune well. That is more than enough for low 12's in an hf crx.

thanks man. i appreciate you guys input. i was gonna go ahead and get the turbo parts and run low boost like maybe 5-6 psi until i got rods and pistons and such. Because i wanted to get the bottom end done all at once.
