there is a little rubber plug underneath your dash on the pedal assembly it is what releases and pushes the brake switch to turn them off and on. when you depress the pedal. it is a common problem with the older cars. It just dries up and breaks apart..you probabl have some little pieces on your floor board..check and see.

the piece usually costs like a buck from Honda.

just follow the brake pedal all the way up till you see it seperate. you will find that the brake pedal hits a lil black button that is the brake censor you will need to replace it b/c it is bad if you are cheap and want good results just super glue a nickel in between the sencor and the pedal works great. I have never had a problem since if you need help lmk i will come help ya fix it for free.

temporary fix if you are really lazy like me...tape a nickel around the plate it attaches to...it will work but will eventually fall off when the tape wears out...
