Default Air Conditioning problem PLEASE HELP

Been trying to ride aroudn without AC but florida is just too damn hot. I cant keep showing up at work with a wet stain on my back and pancakes under my arms so it has to be fixed, and im strapped for cash.

So Problem is it just insnt blowing cold. Air still blows out, but it is always = to that of outside. I put a can of R134 in the car and i thought YES! its cold, but that only lasted for 3 days and now it is back to warm again.

The car makes a hissing noise as it loses the refridgerant at the end of the three day period. I cant afford to keep buying cans of refrigerant every 3 days either.

Fan is still turning fine, and it is sucking the Refridgerant out of the can like a champ. Just wished it stayed as cold as it is when i first charge it.

Im not experienced with air conditioning systems at all. Im guessing there is a leak some where but how do i find it? How do i elimnate other problems it might be? Any idea what it is going to cost?

If you have a dark garage and a xeon light (ultraviolet prefered will glasses) then this will work. first go to an automotive parts store or dealership and ask for air conditioning ultraviolet dye.

put it in your air conditioning

pop your hood and kill all the lights

start your car run the a/c

using the xeon or ultraviolet light shine it into your engine bay around all the a/c lines and fittings.

you will see where the leak is because there will be a bright colored dye coming out.

hope this helps

just a quick guess, but its probably the o rings on the compressor. Either way you will need someone to recover and add the dye into your system and charge. Probably takes around .65kg.

Better yet, just have the dealer not some outside aftermarket company "try" to fix it cause you will end up back there with more problems. Have the dealer check it out. Let them diag it go from there. It will cost you either way. Ac work is not cheap but easy to fix.

Reason I say take it to a dealer is because alot of these aftermarket places don't know shit about ac and the importance of not contaminating your system. Letting moisture in etc.. all can effect your "how cold it gets" or performance of the ac system. On honda's you should be running about 42 degress. with the doors shut running for around 15mins. Get yourself a ac temp gauge.

the dye is only visable under a blacklight or a uv sensitive light, or a xeon bulb that is so if it leaks it will not show up except under uv light!
