Default d-series turbo ??s

Ok so im going to be turboing my coupe sometime soon.And my set up is going to be..
XSpower t3
RC 370s
REV Hard turbo manifold (maybe)
R.F.L bov
Xs power wastegate 35mm
not sure of the intercooler yet
Basic electronics
Well anyways...My motor(d16y8 ) has 114xxx miles on it...Now before I jump to anything..Should I replace anything major before i blow it up.I dont really want to do any major work just something fun to drive..Im on a limited fund and I wanna do this before I run out of money.

well how does the car run number one....if it doesnt smoke and burn oil,leak fluids, and run brand new id say try putting the turbo on there untill something happenes.......unless you wanna be safe and not worry about the hastle just rebuild it now....good luck

Just do a compression test and as long as everything is in working order I say go for it. Id stay away from the XSpower stuff and instead of 370s id go with some DSM 450s and a resistor box. As for the intercooler JRC has some pretty nice units for cheap. Also, as long as its tuned you should be fine. Stay away from FMUs and look into Crome or Uberdata. +1 stay away from XS... If you do go XS don't buy the wastegate. Buy a good, well known wastegate to avoid boost creep and killing something.

Go with a less expensive manifold and a better wastegate for safety. Also +1 on the DSM 450's. Don't forget to add a fresh fuel pump to the list.

o and as you can see from my previous post... Stay away from D motors... They will NEVER have any power...

hey, all I can tell you is that xs power stuff gets mixed reviews, and from personal experience I wish you luck with it, I had a xs power manifold that I had to weld every month, but my girl bought me a new xs power manifold, no different then the one I had and it runs fine, so it's kinda like the lotterry on that, also I just did my gsr turbo and I would defenitely recomend getting your computer chipped, I have done my homework on this and I would recomend getting with John Vega, he is a very helpful guy who will tell you what you need (he did for me and my ECU is on it's way to his shop to get chipped) go the Uberdata, hondata or chrome route, I tried for 2 months to get my car running with an apexi super afc and it never ran right, Jonh has a great reputation on the boards and Im sure he would help you as much as he has helped me out, his website is http://phearable.net/. give him a try and good luck to ya.
